The Wikipedia's portrayal of what Sexism really is.
"Sexism is commonly considered to be discrimination and/or hatred towards people based on their sex rather than their individual merits, but can also refer to any and all systemic differentiations based on the sex of the individuals."
Countless times i've been in a car with a man, and they've made a rude comment about a women driver. Personally i didn't think that was fair.
I wonder, could Sexism be the very root of domestic violence? The man or woman, thinking that they are superior to the spouse, on account of gender? Causing mistrust and feel the need to make the spouse obey commands?
If this is what the worlds comming to, then we must be doing something wrong.
Misogyny; The hatred of females.
Misandry; The hatred of males.
Females are known as "The weaker sex"
Gynophobia; The fear of femininity.

For all i know this picture wont work. It proves to me, how much femininity is ignored, as well as spoken for.
Androphobia; The fear of masculinity.
I wish we could catch Sexism by the throat and stop it totally before its too late. We should fight for equality, between the sexes, races, beliefs and cultures, before we end up destroying everyone.

I understand exactly what you're trying to say. ".. the effect of not having to regard woman as fully human means that their experiences, complaints and joys do not have to be given the same validity. Male experience is regarded as normal; female alternatives to this experience are regarded as being abnormal. Prostitution has always been considered as a provision for men." I found this quote at http://re-xs.ucsm.ac.uk/gcsere/revision/xtianpers/chper3/page3.html.
I definitely think there is A LOT of sexism in our world and it should be stopped. Women never make half of the rude comments that men make and I don't really know why they think they can say these sexist things to women.
“Girls are bad drivers, girls aren’t as tough as men,” these are various comments many of us have defiantly herd over our childhood years. Either parents or other personnel around us, have come to realize that both men and female are both humans, also that we both possess various of the same organs and others that separate our genders. Yet, what we don’t realize is that men and females both play significant roles, most roles separate the genders from each other, whereby the male could be repairing cars and meanwhile the wife could be washing the dishes. Although, what we don’t realize is that from the view of each gender each person plays significant roles that the other gender may not. For example mothers who give birth to a child play a major role in their children’s life as they grow up in the love and care of their mothers, whereby a father can provide everything for its child, whether it is food, money but, can’t provide that love, care and affection which the mother could. According to the Charter Rights and Freedom it is clearly stated that every individual possess the same rights whether they are male or female, yet there are still some individuals out there that separate both genders in significant ways. Therefore, it is evident that we must take into consideration two diverse perspectives of the two genders and if you look from opposite genders there will always be some times for discrimination against the two genders but, in conclusion both genders possess equivalent rights.
Two small line's in harp's made me think ha
these two:
“Girls are bad drivers, girls aren’t as tough as men,”
"whereby the male could be repairing cars and meanwhile the wife could be washing the dishes."
YEAHH..about that..iv neverrrrrrr done the dishes. EVER. haha, those "roles" of guys and girls..are so out of date.
Maybe it's because i have been brought up differently, but my mom and dad do not have categorized "man" and "woman" jobs.My dad does the dishes, cooks, and cleans and my mom is not incapable of mowing the lawn,or fixing things. I do NOT in the least believe in that old fashioned "he does this, she does that". Either gender can do whatever they set their mind to. There is no weaker gender.
Mal, I do not agree with anything you have stated below, I honestly believe those are some characteristics that have been stated in the past about the two genders. Also these phrases are said show true meanings of sexism stating various things the two genders cannot due. Yet, people do not realize that both genders are capable of doing those things that I have stated above, meaning that it is just a verbal saying regarding the two genders which represent “sexism”.
no, i did agree with your comments harp haha =p
maybe i worded it wrong.
i was just saying that those comments were wrong for people to say about women, not that they weren't right.
